Kobe is a beautiful city nestled between the sea and mountains; a city of dreams in which even Japanese people yearn to live in. Rich in culture and heritage, Kobe has a lively history as a prosperous trading port (much like Yokohama near Tokyo), and is currently the home to people from all corners of the globe.(The city also boasts a famous Chinatown, and a wide variety of ethnic restaurants).

Kobe Toyo Japanese College was established in order to give you the training and ability to develop your future potential. Our experienced staff offers total support to our students, responding to your requests with flexible ideas. For example, with our course in Eastern Medicine, we can provide help to those who plan to continue study in the medical field. We also support those who intend to study at universities in Japan or work for Japanese companies.

Welcome Picnic to NARA!!

We go on a welcome picnic every semester!!
We went to NARA by train since HANSHIN railway goes straight to Nara from this spring. 15 meters height of Huge Buddha welcomed us in a Todaiji temple, one of the World Heritage.

After meeting the Buddha, we had a light trekking of Wakakusa-mountain and had a picnic with Obento(Lunch box). Then we had a time for [ ○×quiz ]to get to know KOBE and NARA. Students are excited for getting prizes of Kobe and Nara goods! They moved to ○and ×for pretty deer mobile phone strap. (Nara park is famous for deer.)

Under the beautiful blue sky, we enjoyed the day in peaceful Nara. Can all of us communicate with friends in other classes?

Most of us fell a sleep in the train on a way back to Kobe. We really feel that it is great to connect the train directly to Nara and Kobe.

Today's Kobe~January. 17th,2008~

Time flies.
13 years has been passed since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake hit KOBE.
At 5:46 AM on January 17, 1995, a huge earthquake hit the southern part of Hyogo Prefecture and lasted for approximately 20 seconds. That is the "Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake"
Approximately 6,434 people (final estimate as of 2006), mainly in Kobe, lost their lives as a result of the earthquake.
A lot of people gathered to Higashi Park to remember victims of the earthquake and give a prayer. We, each class also went to the Higashi Park to do so after classes.
We would like to pass this fact and our feeling to the world through our students from all over the world.

The College Information Video「Life at KOBE TOYO Japanese College」has been uploaded!!!

We put our memory from the summer to the winter 2006 together into a video with music.
Enjoy watching our students`life at KOBE TOYO Japanese College.

← Here are the videos.

Did you feel our students` life here at KOBE TOYO Japanese College?

College report!~peak of summer~

♪August ♪

We had a really hot summer this year in Kobe. Some students took the vacation time to enjoy their own activities while other students studied hard in the exam preparation classes in air-conditioned classrooms. (Picture: Japanese language Proficiency Test prep. Class)
Students who studied hard in the summer can now reap the rewards of fall. As for those who didn`t study so hard…..well, that`s ok, there`s still time. Let`s work hard to accomplish all our various goals!!

Learning is not limited to sitting at a desk, extra curricular activities held at several different places also provide various experiences. (Picture: Kawasaki World field trip, Japanese paper making, Osamu Tezuka Manga museum field trip)

At Kawasaki World students were able to practice speaking Japanese with the staff. Although making Japanese paper wasn`t so easy, it was nice to be able to see the result of your own original work. When we finished our own anime we were surprised to see how good it turned out on screen. It`s important to be able to have experiences like this to use daily Japanese and be able to put to use the vocabulary and what not students have learned.

Little by little we`re able to reach our dreams!!

College report!~Early Summer~

♪July ♪

(photo:TANABATA, Tea ceremony, &YUKATA)We wore Japanese traditional summer Kimono called YUKATA , and tried Japanese Sweets and green tea. We experienced traditional Japanese culture and enjoyed Tanabata star festival.

(photo:Bus trip to Kyoto)
We went to Arashiyama, Kyoto by Sagano scenic train from Kameoka, and enjoyed breathtaking scenery. Then we had a bit tense time at Kyoto Imperial Palace. In the end we had a relax time with a voice of Suzumushi, homoeogryllus japonicus.

After we experienced the traditional culture in Japan in the early summer, some were moved by it deeply, and some were not interested in it at all. However, it is the fact. It is OK if everyone can make the best use of their own experience in Japan, and let us make effort to improve Japanese skills!

♪ June ♪

(photo:Origami[folding paper] class)
We tried to fold coloured papers and made them into beautiful cranes, lilies and other staffs. Everyone finally made unique works.

(photo:National BUNRAKU theatre)
We participated in "Bunraku appreciation class" in the only theatre for the only Bunraku in Japan in Osaka. The story telling of Dayu is unique and easy to listen , and we gazed to the movement of a doll which is moved beautifully by three people. The tone of the samisen sound effectively, too. It was also easy to understand the explanation because of the Dayu`s interesting and witty talk. A student went up to the stage and she experienced to move a doll. It seems that the doll is very heavy, and it is difficult to move.

♪ May ♪

(photo:Ikebana [Japanese style flower arrangement])
We joined the 「15th IKEBANA International festival」held in Osaka. We enjoyed the solemn atmosphere of traditional Japanese dance, and of course, the beautiful flowers were really lovely!!

TENMA Festival Report, 2006

"TENMA festival" has been held on the day of the big event of Kobe, "Kobe festival" on Saturday, May 13. As for students, they prepared "Pearl iced tea from Taiwan, Canadian fruits punch, Korean food, Chinese cuisine, and the Thai cuisine" though it was unfortunate weather.

Also we could see those who absorbed in the games and the fortune-telling at a corner of the room. At the same time, the classes of "English, Chinese, Korean, and Swedish" in which students became teachers were held. We think that it was a good chance that it can introduce student's each country and culture. Please join us next year for sure!! We all are waiting for your participation.

Consultation for studying in Japan was held at 「Go Go Japan」 in Taipei、Taiwan R.O.C.
